NEWS Beauty and Magnolia Meet New Friends! Horsing Around at Elmcroft March 2, 2020 – Our Heroes’ Beauty and Magnolia enjoyed their visit with senior residents at the Elmcroft of Southport Community! Beauty and Magnolia are the smaller of the Our Heroes Equine Team. They very much enjoyed the outing, meeting new friends in the Elmcroft Community and just soaking up the sunshine! “We are honored,” says Founder and CEO Ruth Jenkins, “to share in this equine assisted activity enriching the lives of Elmcroft community residents. Bringing joy to the young and the young at heart is definitely what our horses and ponies love to do.” Beauty and Magnolia are hoping to return to the Elmcroft of Southport Community in the near future.
OUR THERAPY HORSES NEED YOUR HELP! We are asking for donations of $7,500 for our Equine Heroes Therapy Team for feed, hay, veterinary care, and farrier expenses for 3 months. TheCoronavirus Pandemic has caused a major loss of income from services and donations (private and corporate).
Our Equine Heroes are the cornerstone of our service to an ever-growing community of at-risk/disadvantaged children, adult and youth trauma survivors (e.g. domestic violence, human trafficking, rape survivors), children and adults with special needs, veterans, first responders, and their families. Our Equine Heroes Therapy Team is made up of 9 therapy horses, themselves a divergent group of abuse/neglect survivors and aged horses. They all require various medications, supplements, and health maintenance supplies in order for them to thrive and to continue to serve our Human Heroes.
